My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Please keep Saturday February 21, 2026 available for Mary Our Queen’s 29th annual MARQUEE Dinner and Auction, at the LaVista Embassy Suites Conference Center. Our theme is Off to the Races. Mary Our Queen Achieving Religious Quality and Unsurpassed Elementary Education (MARQUEE) – is our parish’s largest annual fundraiser. It consists of a dinner, dance and auction (silent and live). MARQUEE is a chance to celebrate our community with old and new friends. The proceeds of the event have been used to assist in meeting the operating needs of the Parish, to support Parish and educational programs, fund technology needs and help pay for maintenance and building improvements. We are excited about the vision for the Mary Our Queen family and the opportunities ahead for our faith-filled future! Proceeds from this year’s MARQUEE Raise the Paddle will go towards Classroom Updates and Teacher and Staff Bonuses. Thank you in advance for your support of Mary Our Queen’s MARQUEE 2026.
Mary Our Queen Men’s Club hosts their Annual Wild Game Feed at Mary Our Queen on Saturday, February 7. This is our Men’s Club Annual Fundraiser whose proceeds support many of our Parish and School Programs at Mary Our Queen. I am grateful for the $10,000 that the Men’s Club has been donating to Mary Our Queen each year to assist in the updating of our Parish Campus. We are grateful for all that they do.
Thanks also to all who joined us for St John Vianney Winter Rub. St John Vianney hosted a Casino Night with a People’s Choice Competition BBQ Wings on January 30th and the Annual KCBS Master Series BBQ Competition on January 31st. Your participation helps St John Vianney’s Outreach program where we assist those in need during difficult times. Our Church has always had a preferential option for the poor. It speaks upon living the Gospel through our lives. At our Family of Parishes, we do various fundraisers to assist the less fortunate in our Family of Parishes. St John Vianney’s Winter Rub is one of such events. In addition, every first Sunday of each month, there is a second collection in support of our Human Needs at Mary Our Queen and Outreach program at St John Vianney. As always, the need is always greater each year. Thank you for your generosity.
In continuation from last week’s Gospel Readings on the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus talks about us being the salt of the earth. The deeds that we can do as disciples of Jesus can influence the world. This is also why we are invited to allow the light of Christ to shine through our lives.
Finally, please keep the St John Vianney and Mary Our Queen 8th Graders in your prayers as they will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation this Wednesday, February 11th by our Archbishop Michael McGovern at St Cecilia Cathedral. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our Catechists, teachers and sponsors who have been inspirational to the lives of our 8th Graders in their confirmation journey.
Blessings for the week,
Fr Marc
