My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We celebrated the Feast of the Queenship of Mary last weekend at Mary Our Queen.  At our Parish luncheon, we presented the St Joseph the Worker Award to Diane Knust and Teri Rieck in appreciation for all that they do for Mary Our Queen.  Congratulations are in order.  I would also like to thank our 11am Music Group for providing the entertainment for the afternoon.  If you missed them, you could get the chance to see them at the Mary Our Queen Fall Festival.

The new OCIA session (previously called RCIA) begins this Sunday.  If you or a loved one or perhaps a friend is interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith, kindly call Ann at 402.578.9846 or email o[email protected] for more information.  The OCIA program meets every Sunday at Mary Our Queen starting at 9am.

Mary Our Queen will be hosting our Fall Festival on September 12 starting with an outdoor Mass at 4pm.  Join us for an evening of fun, food and fellowship.

We will be beginning our Religious Education Program at both St John Vianney and Mary Our Queen on September 9.  If you have not registered your child for the program, kindly call our Parish Offices for more details.

In a few weeks’ time, we will be introducing a new Parish Prayer for Our Family of Parishes before each weekend Mass.  This new prayer is part of our Family of Parishes wide theme for Catechesis.  Our Family of Parishes are called to be a school of prayer that fosters a growing intimacy with God.  We hope this will be a starting point for a Parish wide theme for catechesis.  There will be a program guide that will be coming out presenting all the offerings which includes all our Family of Parishes clubs and organizations that you can get involved in. We will also be reformatting our bulletin that will reflect all that is going on as a Family of Parishes.  More details to follow.

Our Christmas in July is now Christmas in August at St John Vianney.  In the narthex there is a Christmas Wish List tree with ornaments requesting gift cards that will support our Outreach program for the less fortunate.  On each ornament is a prayer that we invite you to pray for the individual or family that you will be supporting.  We thank you for your generosity.

I am looking for a few gardening angels to help us maintain various mulch beds on our campuses of both St John Vianney and Mary Our Queen.  We do our best to make it easy to maintain our grounds with spring and fall cleanup and growing plants that are perennials.  However, there some of our mulch beds are prone to weeds that need some pruning during the course of the year.  There will be a signup genius in the next week or so that will indicate the areas that need some TLC.  I hope that you will be willing to make time to help us keep our Parish grounds beautiful.

I am hoping to plant some new trees at both St John Vianney and Mary Our Queen campuses.  If you are able to help us defray some of that cost, I would appreciate it.

Blessings,
Fr Marc
