My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Next month, February 25th will be our Annual Parish Fundraiser – the MARQUEE.  The theme for our MARQUEE this year is – One for the Generations.  This year our Parish celebrates our 60th Anniversary.  Our MARQUEE celebration is in light of all that has been done to build up our community for the last 60 years.  We are grateful for  he work of our MARQUEE Chairs Mike and Rachelle Heser and Adam and Tiffany Heser and for all involved in organizing this event.

Our Men’s Club will be hosting their 30th Annual Wild Game Feed on Saturday, February 4th.  This is the Men’s Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year.  The proceeds from this event allows the Men’s Club to support Christmas families, tuition assistance, athletics, robotics and much more.  The Men’s Club have been a Blessing to Mary Our Queen and would like to take this opportunity to invite you to come help support Mary Our Queen’s Men’s Club.

Mary Our Queen Catholic School will be hosting their Open House on Tuesday, January 31st.  We invite you to join us during Catholic Schools week and see why your child belongs at Mary Our Queen Catholic School.  Every classroom this day will be featured in our Showcase of knowledge.  You will have the opportunity to tour our campus, visit the classroom, meet our Principal and other MOQ Parents.  Please call us at 402-333-8663 or email at moqschoolomaha@moqschool.org for questions.

A new Season of ALPHA is starting this Sunday, January 22nd.  ALPHA will run from January 22nd through April 23rd, beginning after the 11 am Mass.  Each Session, we’ll provide lunch, laughter and learning about our faith in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where all questions about life or God are welcome.  Childcare will be provided.  We are in the midst of changing our database, communications and online giving software.  This will give us the opportunity to integrate our Church software to something which is more comprehensive instead of using multiple software applications that requires the replication of different tasks.  We will be sending communications to inform you of the process and how you are able to log into this new software with ease.  As we enter the new year, you will be hearing about our Stewardship renewal plans for our Parish.  This will not be just monetary, but it will incorporate the financial, ministry and spiritual needs of our parish and school community.

We have made some changes to the Masses that are offered at Mary Our Queen that took into effect in January.  This includes changes – to turn Monday, Wednesday and Friday 6:20am Mass to a Communion Service (There will be a 6:20am Mass offered on Tuesday and Thursday) and to remove Sunday 5pm Mass.  With Fr Tom Bauwens transitioning here at Mary Our Queen, we will take another look at how our Sacraments are celebrated.  For now, the changes made remains in place.  Any changes made will be in line of Mary Our Queen  and St John Vianney becoming a Family of Parishes.

God’s Blessings,

Fr Marc
