Live Lent Together
Archbishop Lucas is asking us to gather in small groups this Lent. “Jesus told the apostles, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations,’” said Archbishop George Lucas. “Live Lent Together is a wonderful opportunity to do that and allows individuals to connect with one another and with God.”
Jesus started a small group of 12 men…
and He gave them a great mission:
“Go make disciples of the nations!”
That small group changed the world!
So many of our neighbors need good news. What if we invited them to a deeper encounter with Jesus this Lent by asking then to be part of Living Lent Together. A new program that brings people together in small groups to break open God’s Word and gives opportunity to encounter Jesus with and through others.
Live Lent Together is a six-week journey of prayer and conversion which allows participants to revive their personal faith and become missionary disciples who help transform the culture. Live Lent Together offers groups various options for study, reflection, and prayer, reinforcing the Archdiocese of Omaha’s pastoral vision of encountering Jesus, equipping disciples and living mercy.
This year our Parish will use Encounter Series for prayer and reflection. The Encounter Series are guides for small groups to pray together with Scripture (lectio divina). They rely on Jesus to do the heavy lifting of leading the group and aim for transformation of heart (not just transfer of information).
We need everyone!
Do you want to facilitate a group? Do you want to co-facilitate? Your small group can include friends, neighbors, co-workers, or even your children and their friends.
The archdiocese’s parish support team and our parish team will assist the facilitators with orientation program and provide small groups with the necessary resources.
Each and every person can form a group and find a group and be part of
Live Lent Together.
