My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Mary Our Queen Home and School will host the 12th Annual Mustang March on October 7, 2022.  With almost 600 students in Pre-K  through Junior High, the Mustang March is the main school fundraiser with 100% of the revenue going directly to MOQ school, providing important resources for students, teachers and MOQ families.

This year we are raising money for our outdoor classrooms, peaceful playground AND replacing the rubber mulch under the playground  with a rubber mat. Our theme is Let’s Play – Creating Spaces where Education can Feed the Imagination!  For more details please go to https://moqschool.org.

Starting Wednesday this week, we will begin the replacement of the HVAC units for our Church and Cafeteria.  It will take about a month to a month and a half to have the new units installed.  These units were put out to bid earlier this year in January.  As mentioned previously, the current air handlers for the Church and the Cafeteria date back to the time when it was first built in the 1960s and the condenser units are over 20 years old.  We wanted to be proactive in replacing these units.  We were initially told that the new units would arrive in November.  Fortunately the units arrived two weeks ago and since then, we have been making arrangements to have it installed bearing in mind the weather so that there will not be too much discomfort in the Church.  We were originally budgeting the replacements to be about $150,000.  Unfortunately, the replacement bid of the HVAC project was $346,600.  We secured a loan from the Archdiocese to be paid over a 10-year period.  We are in the midst of planning a minor capital campaign in the next few weeks to address this and other needs of our Parish.

Our Parish Trustees are two lay members of the Parish to act as directors for our Parish Corporation.  Kay Daubendiek who has served as a Trustee for our Parish for the last 4 years has asked to step down.  We would like to thank Kay for all she has done and continues to do for our Parish.  I have nominated Maureen Lohmeier to our Archbishop to fulfill that role.

We started our RCIA program on September 11 Sunday at Mary Our Queen. This year we are working with St John Vianney to combine our RCIA program as part of the Family of Parishes that we will be forming next July.  If you or someone you know who might be interested in learning more about our Catholic faith, it is not too late to join us.  Kindly contact the Parish Office for more details.

Our Archdiocese is having a Pastoral Conference on Saturday October 1st from 9am to 12:30pm that will be live streamed to every Parish. We are inviting all to join us for this special event.  Just as how Peter dropped his net and followed Jesus, we are inviting you to join us in following the call of Jesus.  We will be joining St John Vianney for this event as we will be forming a Family of Parishes next July. It will be held at the Social Hall on St John Vianney.  Kindly contact the Parish Office if you would like to attend.

God’s Blessings

Fr Marc
