Dear Prospective School Board Candidate,

Thank you for your interest in serving on the Mary Our Queen School Board. As a vital advisory body, the School Board works in collaboration with the Pastor and Principal to support the governance tasks essential to the maintenance and welfare of our school. Rooted in our Catholic mission, the Board ensures that Mary Our Queen School continues to thrive as a faith-filled community dedicated to academic excellence and spiritual growth.

The School Board serves in an advisory capacity to the Pastor, who, in accordance with canonical law, holds ultimate responsibility for the parish. The Board is also accountable to the Parish Council in designated matters outlined in its bylaws. Members contribute their time and expertise to guide strategic planning, financial oversight, policy development, and overall school advancement while upholding our Catholic identity and values.

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be registered members of St. John Vianney (SJV) or Mary Our Queen (MOQ) parishes for a minimum of two years. The Board meets on the first Tuesday of each month from August through June.   Members are expected to attend the meetings, actively participate and engage in committee work that supports the long-term success of our school.  School Board members serve a three year term with the opportunity to run for an additional term.
