My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Next Sunday the 29th, St John Vianney will be hosting their Fall Festival.  It will begin after the 10:30am Mass on Sunday.  Please join us if you can.  Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who make this event possible.

We replaced the broken concrete pad under the tree by the MOQ playground last week.  The picnic table that was assembled by the Men’s Club will be placed on the concrete pad soon.  I am looking for some volunteers to help with planting some wild grass by the fence of the playground.  Please contact me if you are able to.

We installed a privacy fence in the lot of the demolished house last week.  Hopefully we can begin work on the playground soon.

We are still trying to figure out some alternatives that will upgrade the HVAC system in the Church and Basement Classrooms at St John Vianney that would meet our budget.  There have been some difficulties that we have encountered as a result of the space openings and how our existing equipment has been installed and placed.  The original proposal for the replacement was too costly and so we had to look at a different plan.  I would like to thank Ron Feuerbach of Morrissey Engineering and Mike Winkelmann from Eyman for working with us to find a solution that is cost effective and in a manner that meets the needs of our Parish.  More details to follow.

Please note that the collection boxes in the MOQ narthex are meant for specific items that are requested by ministries or groups and not meant for donations of any kind.  We recently found clothing and household items placed in the collection boxes.  Unfortunately, those items were tossed as we do not have the ability to transfer them to a donation site.  Please consider using the Society of St Vincent de Paul for such donations.

Last of all, I have been working with our Archdiocese for a possibility of taking a sabbatical from October to December.  They have provisionally given me approval.  To prepare for my sabbatical, I will be working with the staff of Mary Our Queen and St John Vianney to ensure that everything runs smoothly while I am away.

Have a Blessed Week.

Fr Marc
