My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We had our campus of St John Vianney mulched and had the bushes and flower beds trimmed and cleaned up last Saturday.  Thank you to all who participated in our spring campus cleanup and mulching.  We even had a few from Mary Our Queen who helped.  Our campus grounds continue to look beautiful because of all your hard work.  We also had removed some bushes and wild grass by the carpark entrance of St John Vianney a few weeks ago as some of the bushes were dying as well as the weeds around the wild grass were getting out of control.  There was also a safety issue as the bushes blocked the view of those pulling out of our parking lot.  The hope is to have that area sodded to make it look clean sometime this week.

Thanks also to the Men’s Club who helped mulch the remainder of Mary Our Queen Campus last Monday.  Our Campus continues to remain beautiful because of all you do.

We had Vacation Bible School last week.  This was our first combined Family of Parishes Vacation Bible School that we did together.  We had a little over a hundred children attend the program.  Thank you to all our volunteers for making this a special event for our children.

We will be having our Totus Tuus summer camp from July 7th to the  11th from 9am to 2:30pm for Grades 1-6 and July 6-10 from 6:30pm-8:45pm for Grades 7-12 for our Family of Parishes.  Totus Tuus (Totally Yours) is a fun and energetic parish-based summer catechetical program, for both grade school age children and junior and senior high school youth. To register please go to our website https://moqchurch.org/totus-tuus/.

A new Alpha series began on June 2nd at El Vallarta Restaurant on Mondays from 7 to 8:30pm. Alpha is a series of group conversations that explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly environment.   Please email jmeyer@moqchurch.org to register or register from our website at https://moqchurch.org/summer-alpha/.

We are going to move the Pentecost Eucharistic Procession at St John Vianney to the Feast Day of St John Vianney on August 10.  Please join us for the Eucharistic Procession around the Church Grounds of St John Vianney on August 10 after our 10:30am Mass.  Our Feast Day celebrations picnic will begin after the Eucharistic Procession.  The reason on moving the procession around our Church grounds is accommodate those who are unable to walk around the neighborhood but would still like to participate in it and having the Eucharistic Procession on our Feast Day makes our Feast Day celebrations a sacred time for our Parish.

The parking lot at Mary Our Queen is in bad shape. The cost to fix, mill and overlay our current asphalt parking lot is roughly about $150, 000.  I have been trying to set aside some funds over the next few years to make that happen, however, I am told some parts of the parking lot need to be done sooner than later.  I would like to make an appeal for the funds to make it a possibility this summer.  If you are able to, we are appealing for donations to make that happen.  There will be a second collection on the weekends of June 15th and 22nd for this purpose.  Thank you for your generosity.

Work will begin to replace the lighting controls for the Narthex, the Church and the Blessed Sacrament Chapel and St John Vianney in the next few weeks. The electrical company was here to plan the wiring process on Monday.

Two TVs for two classrooms at St John Vianney for our Religious Education Program was installed this week.  Thanks to Lynn Gaston and Terry Gloe for installing the TVs   This will assist our Religious Education Program for the future.

Blessings,

Fr Marc
