My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
With the conclusion of Christmas last Sunday, we now enter into Ordinary Time. Ordinary Time does not mean ordinary. It comes from ordinal numbers. What this means for us is that we are counting in the days of the Lord. There are 34 weeks of Ordinary Time in our Liturgical Year. The last Sunday of Ordinary Time is the Solemnity of Christ the King, with our new Liturgical Year beginning with Advent. The Liturgical color of Ordinary Time is green, which signifies growth.
Thank you for all who assisted in the Funeral of Deacon Frank Telich last Saturday. Deacon Frank was ordained a Deacon in 1993 has served St John Vianney for many years. We were indeed blessed by his ministry here at St John Vianney. He was always welcoming to everyone who came to St John Vianney, and his absence will be missed. Please keep Deacon Frank and his family in your prayers.
We had the first session of the Trinity House Gatherings at St John Vianney on Saturday. Trinity House Gatherings is a new program for our Family of Parishes that provides fellowship and support in building a faith filled home for our families. The next gathering is on March 22nd.
