My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We had some more snow and some very cold days this week.  I pray everyone is safe.

We had MARQUEE 2025 on Saturday, February 22nd.  The theme was The Greatest Show and is MOQ’s biggest fundraiser.  All proceeds from this event go to MOQ; we are grateful to all who make this event possible.  Since its inception, over $4 million has been raised that helped make capital improvements at MOQ.  We are able to maintain our beautiful campus because of your generosity.  Thank you, Paul & Betsy Austin, Kevin & Gina Rau and Dan & Mary Ann Tietjen for chairing this amazing event and for all who assisted in making this event possible.  We are looking for chairs for next year’s MARQUEE.  If this is something you are willing to undertake for our parish, I will truly be grateful.

There will be a Mardi Gras Party at St John Vianney on March 1st after the 5:30pm Mass with homemade jambalaya, gumbo and beignets.  There will also be hurricanes and music available.  This is a free will offering event and it will begin from 6pm onwards.  Please join us if you can.

Please see the bulletin for more details and available programs in our Family of Parishes, especially the Lenten offerings that will be made available.

The lyrics without the music should be up this week at all Masses at St John Vianney.  We did this so that all who have difficulty participating in Mass can do so.  If there is something more, we can do to help increase Mass participation. Kindly let me know.

We have reworked the doner recognition kiosk at the narthex at SJV. While we had all the equipment purchased, we were not able to find the right people to help set it up and program it.  With that in mind, it was decided that we would do something simpler – with doner recognition slides that are similar to our display signage that we have.  It is currently up and running and we will make adjustments as time goes by.

More work continues to be done with the HVAC system installation for the church and basement at SJV.  We are still working to address the lighting controls that need to be replaced for the church, narthex and Blessed Sacrament Chapel and a plan to update the church sound system.  More details to follow.  I believe it is prudent for us to do a study on our campus facility and the needs for our parish at SJV for the future and I will be gathering a committee to guide us through it.

While we were going through the updates of the HVAC system for SJV, we started going through all the closet and cabinet spaces at both our Family of Parishes.  There were a lot of dated materials and items in places whom we could not find the group or individual who placed them there.  From what was gathered, these items were placed in those spaces for a while and were tossed out.  If your group needs space to place your things, kindly contact our Parish Office and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.  Please also note that items will be tossed on a regular basis in spaces that have not been allocated for your group.

I am grateful for all the sacrifices that have been made to make our campuses in our Family of Parishes of St John Vianney and Mary Our Queen the beautiful facilities that we have and am looking forward to building on the foundation that laid by our founding members.

God Bless ,

Fr Marc
