My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We had some much-needed snow for our grounds in the middle of the week.  I am sure our kids had a nice day off from School.

MARQUEE 2025 will be next Saturday, February 22nd.  The theme for MARQUEE 2025 is The Greatest Show.  This is MOQ’s biggest fundraiser.  All proceeds from this event will go to MOQ.  We are grateful to all who make this event possible.  Since its inception, over $4 million has been raised that helped make capital improvements at MOQ.  We are able to maintain our beautiful campus because of your generosity.

There will be a Mardi Gras party at St John Vianney on March 1st after the 5:30pm Mass with homemade jambalaya, gumbo and beignets.  There will also be hurricanes and music available.  This is a free will offering event and it will begin from 6pm onwards.  Please join us if you can.

Please see the bulletin for more details and available programs in our Family of Parishes.  There will be more information about our Lenten offerings soon.

I received some request at SJV to address the font size of the lyrics of the music displayed on our screens during Mass as they are having difficulty reading it.  To address the request, we are going to remove the music score from the hymns that are used to assist in Mass participation.  We are working on acquiring the right subscription and should be able be able to have it up by next weekend at the latest.

There was supposed to be a doner recognition kiosk at the Narthex at SJV. While we had all the equipment purchased, we were not able to find the right people to help set it up and program it.  With that in mind, it was decided that we would do something simpler – with doner recognition slides that are similar to our display signage that we have.  I am hoping we will have it up within the next two weeks.

More work continues to be done with the HVAC system installation for the Church and basement at SJV.  Last week in my Pastor’s Column, I addressed the lighting controls that need to be replaced for the Church, Narthex and Blessed Sacrament Chapel.  We are still working on fine tuning the work that needs to be done.  More details to follow.  I believe it is prudent for us to do a study on our campus facility and the needs for our Parish at SJV for the future and I will be gathering a committee to guide us through it.

There will be 4 classrooms at Mary Our Queen that will be updated this summer.  This will complete the lower-level classroom updates, and we will then proceed with the plan to update the upper-level classrooms for the future.  This is made possible from the proceeds of our MARQUEE and from the generosity of the Knights of Columbus and Men’s Club of Mary Our Queen.

I am grateful for all the sacrifices that have been made to make our campuses in our Family of Parishes of St John Vianney and Mary Our Queen the beautiful facilities that we have and am looking forward to building on the foundation that laid by our founding members.

God Bless,

Fr Marc
