Dear MOQ and SJV Parishioners, Once again we are asking your generosity in obtaining funds to help our Lakota neighbors in Porcupine,SD. The parish we serve there is Christ the King. The Notre Dame Sisters ministered there for over 25 years to help the poorest residents in education as well as living life for Christ. This is around our 13th year to help collect money for their Winter electric bills. The CTK Parish there determines who needs the money the most, our focus being on the elderly and homes with young children. The money we collect from our Parishes is then divided equally and placed directly on their electric bills to help cover the cost of heating their homes. It is a “silent gift” from you to those Native Americans who need it the most. We know Winter can be brutal on the Plains. Please consider a gift for the Lakota Heat Aid Fund. There will be a donation page on the MOQ website or you can send a check to the Parish Center made out to “TNT-MOQ”. Just put the word Lakota in the memo at the bottom of the check. Our deadline is November 18. God Bless you for your willingness to help! Questions, Paulette Smith, 402-334-8141.
